New Tax Law Proposal For Danes Living Abroad

We have just learned the Danish Tax Authority has issued a draft proposal for tightening the tax laws for Danes living abroad. If passed, it will potentially have serious implications for Danes with property in Denmark and living in low-tax countries such as Hong Kong SAR.

For an overview of the proposal, please click this update from Danes Worldwide: <>

We understand the proposal will be tabled in the Danish Parliament before the summer and our intelligence indicates it has the support of the majority and will likely pass. We recommend all Danes living abroad with frequent stays in Denmark or with property in Denmark to seek advice from your tax accountant/lawyer to make sure you understand the implications for your own individual situation.

The Danish Chamber of Commerce will voice out our concerns with the proposal. Mr. Frank Jensen will coordinate our efforts. If any of you have any input to the situation, particularly if your company is based in Denmark and you feel your company can be helpful in our efforts to influence the proposal, please share with Mr. Jensen at or please contact him at +852 90366890.
