Charles Gave is founder and Chairman of Gavekal Research, www.gavekal.com one of the world’s best known independent economic advisory firms. Charles and his team of experts write regularly on global economic issues in papers such as the The Times in the UK, Le Journal des Finance in France, Ming Pao in China and the Hong Kong Economic Journal. Gavekal is also the founding company of Dragonomics Research www.dragonomics.net which is well known amongst corporates and fund managers as one of the best information sources for macro and micro data on the Chinese economy.

Charles has lived in Hong Kong most of his life and having attended some of his presentations in the past, we are sure his talk will be both stimulating and entertaining. We have asked Charles to talk about the issues our members and the general public seem most concerned about at present. Is China entering an asset bubble? Can current GDP growth rates be maintained? What about the state of Western economies? Are the US and Europe going to go the way of Japan and be faced with a lost decade of deflation and debt reduction? We think all these issues will be of great interest to the HK business community and we are sure plenty others will arise during the Q&A after Charles’ formal presentation.
